Good houses should can protect the owner and all that living on it. At least, good houses is the house that not to be “killer” that kill the human who living there while something happen to it. Even in extreme condition. In the ancient time, the house is designed to follow the nature’s habbit.
For example, in Sumatra and Kalimantan (Southern Borneo), house mostly made from the wood because they had a lot of wood resources in the jungle. The wood not only a lot in number but stronger than wood from other island in Indonesia. Besides that, may be long time ago, in the Sumatra region, often happened earthquake, so it not secure if they made house from brick or stone. In the Java region, mostly houses are made from the red brick. May be in the Java, earthquake are rarely happened.
But now on, the houses construction are not follow the nature again. It caused by technology. What technology are influencing it? The usage of metal buildings especially steel buildings construction.
Besides from the construction, houses also had growth in architecture. If few hundred years ago houses only place for sheltering, now houses can be everything that human need. Even become determinant of identity. It make people should going home. You know what make people enjoy in their houses? Yes, there are kitchen, livingroom, dining room, bedroom, gymnastic, even carports.
But, if you had all of them and you still won’t go home, you’re may be crazy. Fix your mind at first in psychiatrist.
